Mulberry tree bark
The branches of the mulberry shrubs are harvested in the autumn, and the innermost layer of bark (white bark) is stripped from the timber and boiled in a mixture of water and soda ash. The strips are then beaten by hand until they have been well separated.
The diffuser is formed by hand sewing each of the prepared clusters of fiber to a cotton grid, which has been fastened to the base structure.
The colour of the material is a soft white that yellows a little with age. To clean diffusers in this material, we recommend that they be dusted or lightly vacuumed.

Elegance, Luminosity and Sustainability in Sculptural Handcrafted Lighting
Art Exhibition
Limitless by Ango
in Bangkok Design Week 2021
Ango are part of the collaborative Carnival Exhibition by Design & Object Association at River City Bangkok, presenting an individual light sculpture piece during 1-20 June 2021 in Bangkok Design Week.
Limitless is an electro-light installation that proposes hope and plenty in its unboundedness, also alluding to eternity and the infinite, with no beginning or ending.
From sketchbook to light sculpture
The piece is a continuous flow of light, and the free form of Limitless is the actualisation of a dream that came to the designer and was transposed into his sketchbook the next day.
From handcrafted lighting pendants to the Limitless light installations
The piece builds on the material / light experimentation that Ango have engaged in over the last 18 years, and the light diffusion is created utilising the random weaving technique in rattan developed by Ango some years ago, which is built up on a steel core structure.
